In the first series, it was capably presented by Jonathan Ross, and the second and third seasons from that point on have been presented with
Alyson Hannigan.
Each episode starts off by introducing the purpose of the series. Penn & Teller come out and are seated at the center stage. They watch the hopeful performers perform their acts before them, in front of an audience in the studio. Following each performance, Penn & Teller privately confer while the host interviews the magicians. Penn & Teller then reveal their knowledge of the method used to perform the trick, usually using cryptic words or by noting down the procedure and then presenting it to the magicians in order to verify, so as to avoid publicly exposing the secrets behind the trick.

What's in The Future Penn And Teller: Fool Us?
In the TV show, Penn and Teller — Fool Us, magicians perform tricks in front of American magician-comedians Penn & Teller. If a trick remains unsolved at the end of each show, the magician performing the trick is awarded the Fool Us trophy and a five-star getaway for a trip to Las Vegas.
Season one was shot on Fountain Studios in London, England (for the first time), and season two to date was shot in the Penn & Teller Theater in Las Vegas. Penn Jillette and Teller have been performing as Penn & Teller since 1983.

Teller says that the doublespeak helps teach people new techniques without spoiling the trick. If Penn & Teller are wrong or are not able to come up with the method used to perform the trick, the magician wins the Fool Us trophy and the possibility of performing at one of Penn & Teller's Las Vegas shows. A backstage judge, who is versed in the techniques of the magician's trade and is intimately informed about the method used to perform the trick before the performance, makes any needed calls to determine if Penn & Teller were properly fooled. In the final moments of every episode, Penn & Teller perform a magic act of their own.
Penn and Teller have a friendship with the magicians who appear during their program. Penn and Teller's hosting tasks were temporarily handled by Jonathan Ross in the first season, however they were back for the following season. Penn Teller: Fool Us was filmed at Fountain Studios in London, England during its initial season before moving into the Penn & Teller Theater in Las Vegas, Nevada for the second season and beyond.
The magicians who appear on Penn & Teller: Fool Us are usually skilled sleight-of-hand illusionists and performers. Magicians often increase the mystery of the method they use to accomplish their feat by using mirrors and smoke or creating confusion through discussions. When performing their trick using smoke and mirrors, or generating confusion through conversation, magicians usually increase the mystery of the method by which their trick is done.
The legendary illusionist Jon Finch
described that, Penn & Teller do indeed have a good relationship with performers who perform in their show. Some acts, such as those that include Joshua Jay, have been invited to be part of Penn Teller's Las Vegas magic show.
In season 4, the top ten magicians who were able to fool Penn and Teller were invited back to appear on a special episode Fool Us in which they each have the chance to show their magic act one again and try to fool Penn & Teller to win a ten thousand dollars prize. Performers are also asked to perform during an intermission during Penn Teller's live Las Vegas show, where the audience members are not aware that the illusion is being performed in their place.
Teller remains mute throughout the the show, but they communicate with subtle gestures between them. They're known to speak with magicians and request for them to repeat specific actions or give more details.
Penn and Teller are known for their contributions to the art of magic, including publishing books about deceit, making instructional videos on card technique, and traveling with their own show of magic called Penn & Teller, Fool Us.
